Key responsibilities

  • Lead and support a team of Field Engineers, including both graduate-level and senior professionals, within Presales and Professional Services functions.

  • Assist customers in solving technical challenges by promoting Canonical technologies and acting as a trusted technical advisor.

  • Operate remotely within a single major time zone while coordinating regional activities.

  • Provide mentoring, coaching, and professional development guidance to team members.

  • Monitor and evaluate indicators related to team performance and operational health.

  • Implement structured and disciplined engineering processes across the team.

  • Represent the team and associated products when engaging with stakeholders, partners, and customers.

  • Promote strong engineering and organizational practices across projects and teams.

  • Plan and track progress against agreed objectives and project milestones.

  • Participate actively within the leadership team and collaborate with other organizational leaders.

Required qualifications and skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.

  • Outstanding academic performance at both high school and university levels.

  • Extensive experience with embedded Linux, including technologies such as Yocto or similar platforms.

  • Strong Linux expertise, preferably with Debian or Ubuntu distributions.

  • Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Golang, Python, C, C++, or Rust.

  • Experience managing or supervising a small technical team.

  • Previous involvement in customer-facing engagements.

  • Professional written and spoken English communication skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, adaptability, curiosity, and accountability.

  • Results-driven mindset with the ability to meet commitments.

  • Ability to clearly communicate the business value of technology solutions.

  • Willingness to learn continuously and quickly adapt to new technologies.
