Job Overview
MSHEL Construction is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Project Planner to support the planning and coordination of construction projects. The role is responsible for overseeing project planning, scheduling, and execution to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
The successful candidate will collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to develop detailed project plans, monitor progress, and proactively address potential delays or operational challenges.
Key Responsibilities
Project planning

Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules for construction projects while ensuring alignment with established milestones and deadlines.

Work closely with project managers, engineers, and relevant stakeholders to define project scope, timelines, and key deliverables.

Prepare and structure work breakdown structures (WBS), resource allocation plans, and essential project planning documentation.

Identify project risks and constraints while developing mitigation strategies to prevent delays or cost overruns.
Scheduling and coordination

Monitor project progress to ensure adherence to approved schedules and adjust project plans when required based on actual progress or unforeseen challenges.

Coordinate with internal departments and external stakeholders, including subcontractors and suppliers, to ensure the timely procurement and delivery of materials, equipment, and services.

Provide regular updates on project performance, including schedule adherence, scope changes, and budget status.

Ensure efficient use of project resources while resolving any resource allocation conflicts.
Resource management

Support forecasting of resource requirements, including labor, materials, and equipment, and track utilization to maintain project timelines.

Collaborate with procurement and logistics teams to ensure the availability of necessary resources throughout the project lifecycle.

Identify potential shortages or delays in resources and address them proactively.
Risk management and problem solving

Identify potential risks associated with project scheduling, resources, or logistics and develop contingency strategies to mitigate them.

Address operational challenges that arise during project execution and recommend schedule or resource adjustments to minimize disruptions.

Work with project teams to resolve conflicts and maintain alignment with project objectives.
Documentation and reporting

Prepare comprehensive project reports covering schedule updates, resource utilization, and performance against key milestones.

Maintain an organized database of project planning documentation with appropriate version control and accessibility.

Produce presentations and reports for senior management and clients that highlight project progress, performance metrics, and operational challenges.
Collaboration and communication

Maintain effective communication with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure transparency regarding project updates and changes.

Facilitate project meetings focused on planning updates, schedule adjustments, and issue resolution.

Ensure that all team members and subcontractors remain aligned with established project timelines and deliverables.
