We are looking for a proactive and skilled Manager – Cybersecurity to protect our company’s critical infrastructure, software platforms, and client data. You will be responsible for ensuring the security, integrity, and resilience of our grid management solutions against evolving cyber threats, playing a key role in maintaining the safety of systems, networks, and data.

Job Title: Manager – Cybersecurity

Location: Lagos, Nigeria or Accra, Ghana
Department: TEC – Technology
Reports to: Senior Manager – Cybersecurity
Work Arrangement: Hybrid (2 days in the office, 3 days remote)

What You’ll Do

Security Operations & Monitoring

  • Ensure high availability, scalability, and disaster recovery capabilities for our systems.

  • Monitor security systems, SIEM tools, and network traffic for potential threats and anomalies.

  • Investigate and respond to security incidents, breaches, and vulnerabilities.

  • Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify risks.

  • Manage endpoint protection, firewalls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.

Security Architecture & Compliance

  • Design and implement security controls for both cloud and on-premise infrastructure.

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards (ISO 27001, NIST, SOC 2, GDPR).

  • Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and documentation.

  • Support security audits and ensure certifications are maintained.

Threat Intelligence & Risk Management

  • Stay informed on emerging threats, attack vectors, and security trends.

  • Conduct risk assessments and recommend mitigation strategies based on findings.

  • Work with DevOps and Engineering teams to integrate security into the SDLC (DevSecOps).

  • Lead security awareness training sessions for employees.

  • Develop and maintain incident response plans and playbooks.

  • Lead incident investigations and perform root cause analysis.

  • Ensure business continuity and disaster recovery readiness.

Managerial Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a high-performing team, setting clear goals, KPIs, and accountability standards.

  • Manage team capacity, resource allocation, and delivery planning within approved budgets.

  • Participate in annual planning and forecasting processes for the department.

  • Oversee hiring, onboarding, performance reviews, and individual development plans.

  • Ensure operational discipline and timely delivery of high-quality work.

  • Identify and escalate resource or budget risks that impact delivery timelines.

  • Foster a culture of collaboration, ownership, and continuous improvement within the team.

What We’re Looking For

Professional & Technical Strengths

  • Proven experience in cybersecurity, information security, or related fields.

  • Expertise in network security, cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP), and endpoint protection.

  • Familiarity with SIEM tools (Splunk, Sentinel, QRadar, etc.).

  • Proficiency in vulnerability scanning and penetration testing tools.

  • Knowledge of security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls).

  • Experience with identity and access management (IAM), MFA, and Zero Trust principles.

Leadership & Interpersonal Strengths

  • Ability to collaborate with multicultural and geographically distributed teams.

  • High degree of autonomy and accountability in a hybrid work environment.

  • Strong communication skills, capable of conveying security risks to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Calm under pressure with strong incident response and decision-making capabilities.

  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills (e.g., Engineering, DevOps).

  • Ability to lead incident response teams and make informed, high-impact decisions.

  • Strong risk management skills, able to prioritize based on impact and likelihood.

  • A high sense of responsibility for the company’s security posture.

Nice to Have

  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CEH, CompTIA Security+, OSCP.

  • Scripting/automation skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell).

  • Experience in critical infrastructure, utilities, or the energy sector.

  • Familiarity with OT/ICS security (SCADA, industrial control systems).

  • Fluency in French is a plus.
