Job summary

Zipline is seeking to hire an Operations Excellence Manager responsible for improving operational efficiency, safety, and quality across its network. The role involves developing and scaling governance systems that enable country teams to operate efficiently, maintain compliance, and achieve consistent performance.

Reporting to the Country Head of Product, the position requires close collaboration with Nest Leads, Compliance Officers, Zipline Academy, Engineering, and Regulatory teams to strengthen operational standards while supporting localized execution.

Key responsibilities

Quality and safety governance systems:

• Design, maintain, and improve global quality, safety, and compliance systems, including playbooks, manuals, and operational tools.

• Collaborate with internal teams to establish governance structures, documentation standards, and oversight mechanisms that support local execution.

• Define and monitor country-level KPIs, safety targets, and performance metrics to drive accountability and data-informed decisions.

• Develop audit frameworks and tools that support self-assessment, while participating in regulatory audits, safety reviews, and incident investigations.

• Work closely with compliance teams to ensure consistent application of operational standards across regions.

Continuous improvement, scalability and documentation:

• Partner with Country Heads of Product and Nest Leads to enhance SOPs, workflows, and technical documentation for improved efficiency.

• Collaborate with the Excellence & Insights team to design dashboards, metrics, and monitoring systems for performance tracking.

• Identify opportunities to automate and standardize processes to support scalable growth without increasing manual oversight.

Training and capability enablement:

• Work with Zipline Academy to design and deliver scalable training programs focused on safety and quality compliance.

• Drive adoption of new tools, processes, and standards through structured change management and coaching.

• Ensure documentation and knowledge transfer systems are designed for scalability across new locations and markets.

Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in operations excellence, quality, or safety systems within a regulated industry such as aviation, logistics, healthcare, or manufacturing.

• Demonstrated experience leading operational excellence or continuous improvement initiatives.

• Proven ability to design systems, tools, or processes that enhance safety and quality.

• Strong project management, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.

• Ability to identify risks proactively and present actionable solutions to leadership.

• Adaptability and a strong commitment to solving complex operational challenges.

• Certifications in Lean Six Sigma, Operational Excellence, or ISO standards are an added advantage.
