Key responsibilities
Managing sales activities

Develop a strategic account plan for market demand generators.

Oversee reactive and proactive sales efforts to achieve booking goals and property revenues.

Work with Regional Marketing Communications to develop targeted marketing activities.

Provide customer intelligence and adjust sales strategies to meet customer expectations and market trends.

Analyze Strategic Alignment Review (STAR) and competitive shopping reports to maintain market awareness.

Research competitors’ strategies to identify opportunities to increase occupancy and RevPAR.

Participate in sales strategy meetings and propose innovative ideas to grow market share.

Support the Area Sales and Group Sales teams with account management and deployment.
Campaign management

Plan and execute social media campaigns, promotions, and events in collaboration with marketing and sales teams.

Coordinate with marketing and design teams to enhance campaign effectiveness.

Work with influencers and brand ambassadors to extend market reach.
Leadership & client engagement

Lead the sales department, set goals, and monitor the team’s alignment with the business strategy.

Guide revenue-generating departments to create effective strategies and achieve financial goals.

Provide mentorship to staff and enhance team performance.

Supervise the sales team’s utilization of Marriott’s demand engines to maximize potential.

Partner with Human Resources to attract and retain the right talent for the department.

Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations in all operational activities.
Building relationships and customer service

Cultivate strong relationships with local organizations to increase brand and product awareness.

Maintain active participation in local, regional, and national tradeshows and client events.

Monitor customer satisfaction before, during, and after events, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded.

Develop a deep understanding of the hotel’s primary customer base and offer tailored solutions.
Candidate profile
Education and experience:
-
2-year Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel & Restaurant Management, or related field; 4 years of experience in sales and marketing or a related area.

4-year Bachelor’s degree in the same fields with at least 2 years of experience in sales and marketing.
Preferred qualifications:

A 4-year college degree.

Experience in lodging sales and hotel industry with a demonstrated history of career growth and exceptional performance.
