Key responsibilities
Guest service and repair requests
-
Respond promptly to guest repair requests and attend to maintenance issues with minimal supervision.

Communicate effectively with guests to resolve any maintenance concerns.

Perform preventive maintenance on tools, equipment, and machinery, including cleaning and lubrication.

Visually inspect tools, equipment, and machines for functionality.
Operational and technical tasks
-
Carry out equipment checks and operations, including managing and identifying shut-off valves for buildings and equipment.

Maintain an organized inventory and request necessary parts and supplies.
-
Display proficiency in technical areas such as air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems, and controls.

Troubleshoot and repair a wide range of equipment, such as pumps, motors, plumbing, electrical devices, and guestroom items.

Perform basic repair or replacement tasks, including PVC copper pipe repair, soldering, and the maintenance of electrical outlets, switches, and other related components.
Maintenance operations and safety

Use the Lockout/Tagout system for safety during maintenance tasks.

Demonstrate knowledge in engineering computer programs related to preventative maintenance, energy management, and other integrated systems.

Conduct mid-level troubleshooting of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems.

Support the training and mentoring of other engineers.

Perform Engineer on Duty responsibilities, including readings and rounds.
General duties

Follow all company and safety policies and procedures, reporting any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or accidents.

Ensure proper storage of flammable materials and adhere to safety training and certifications.
-
Maintain a clean and professional appearance, ensuring confidentiality of company information.
-
Assist with lifting and moving objects, including tasks requiring assistance for heavier items.
-
Move up and down stairs, ramps, or ladders and perform physical tasks such as bending, twisting, and stooping.

Use computers to enter work-related information and complete tasks.
-
Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Preferred qualifications

Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent with a background in vocational or technical studies.

Experience: A minimum of 2 years in hotel engineering or maintenance or general maintenance experience, including surface preparation and painting.

Supervisory experience: Not required.

License or Certification: Valid Driver’s License.
Required qualifications

Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) Certification.

Must meet state and federal certification or licensing requirements.
